Scoresby Secondary College invites applicants for Scoresby Secondary College’s scholarship programs that aim to reward achievement, and encourage leadership and students who will make a contribution to our school.
General Excellence Scholarships
Two General Excellence scholarships are offered to current Grade 6, Year 8 and Year 10 students for the following two years. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of high achievement, the student’s attitude towards their studies, evidence of co-curricular involvement, leadership, sporting activities and in some cases, an interview. These scholarships open in March and close at 4.00pm on May 26 2017. Testing will be conducted in Term 3. These scholarships contribute $200 towards the students College essential charges.
Student Leadership Scholarship
The Student Leadership Scholarships are available for two students in Year 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 who are interested in undertaking specific activities that aim to improve the overall student experience at the College. This is an exciting opportunity for students to participate in leadership development programs. Successful recipients will need to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, initiative and the ability to work autonomously and as members of the College teams. Participation in one external student leadership program and 50% of the cost of a College Blazer are covered by this scholarship. Student Leadership scholarships open on 6 November 2017and close at 4.00pm on 30 November 2017.
Music Scholarships
Scoresby Secondary College music scholarships are offered to 5 students from Grade 6, Year 7, Year 8, Year 9. These scholarships cover 50% of the instrumental or voice lessons for the duration of secondary studies (maximum of six years) and are open to candidates who show outstanding talent in instrumental or voice. To maintain the scholarship, students are expected to play a full and meaningful role in the life of the College in general, and the music programs in particular. Music Scholarships open on October 10 2016 and close at 4.00pm on November 3 2016.
VET Music Scholarships
Each year, one VET Music Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at Scoresby Secondary College to support their studies in the Nationally Accredited Music Programs conducted at the College. This scholarship is valued at $200. Applications open on October 10 2016 and close at 4.00pm on November 3 2016.
VET Sport & Recreation Scholarship
Each year, one VET Sport & Recreation Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at Scoresby Secondary College to support their studies in the Sport & Recreation Programs conducted at the College. This scholarship is valued at $200. Applications open on October 102016 and close at 4.00pm on November 3 2016.
